2 New Bible Study Groups
Wednesday Evening Study Group
Still haven't seen The Chosen? Want to see it again? The Wednesday evening study group will resume at 7:00 p.m. on September 23rd in the Fellowship Hall and will be viewing The Chosen. Come and join us as we watch each episode and then talk about it. Everyone is welcome!
Friday Morning Study Group
We had some discussion about work justice vs. works of mercy in the group. We will begin this Fall at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 25th in the Fellowship Hall. As a beginning, we will take a look at what The United Methodist Church has to say about works of justice. If something catches our interest, we'll take a deeper dive. You don't have to have been in the group previously to join in - come and see!

Dessert Bake-Off Winner
& Update on the Heifer Ark
Congratulations to Carol Taft! She won first place in the Cooperative Parish Dessert Bake-Off with her pistachio pudding squares. Leean Spalding from Cheshire UMC came in 2nd place with her Caramel Cake and Gardner Wright from Asbury UMC came in 3rd place with his Carrot Cake. Approx 30 people attended. It was a lot of fun, great fellowship and $171 was raised for Heifer.
This brings the total amount collected for Heifer to $9868. The original goal was to purchase 1 Ark that cost $5000. It looks like we will be able to buy 2 Arks because this isn't the final number. This is amazing and something we could only do because we are part of a Cooperative Parish. What a blessing!
As a reminder, the Ark consists of two water buffaloes, two cows, two sheep and two goats, along with bees, chicks, rabbits, and more. Donating an Ark will help care for entire communities with milk, eggs, honey, and wool, provide income by supplying an abundance of goods to sell, sustain farming by providing livestock to work the land, and continue as the gifts (offspring) are passed on to neighbors, family, and friends for generations to come.
